Charitable dinner to feature Huckabee
A charitable VIP dinner is slated July 19 featuring former Arkansas governor and presidential contender Mike Huckabee. The $500 per plate dinner at Big Creek Golf and Country Club is to be part of Huckabee's appearance at a financial and nutritional conference at East Side Baptist Church.
The VIP dinner, in part, is to help fund the cost of Huckabee's appearance. He is to be available for socializing at the event. According to Andy Farmer, proceeds above what is needed for Huckabee's expenses will be donated to relief efforts at Joplin, Mo.
According to a notice by Farmer, the conference, "THRIVE," is aimed at "baby boomers" in the community to help them with both financial and health issues. In addition, it is to serve as an introduction to two ongoing classes covering those topics at East Side Baptist Church.
Farmer said the cost for dinner tickets would be partially tax deductible and "is in no way, shape or form a political contribution."
Anyone wanting more information or who wants to buy tickets can contact Farmer at 425-8895 or (870) 217-3999.
